Sauk Rapids-Rice Storm (Sauk Rapids, MN) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Willmar Cardinals (Willmar, MN), 7-4 in a league challenge.

The Storm now own a 8-11 record. They take the field next when they host Buffalo for a non-league challenge on Monday, May 13. Sauk Rapids-Rice will face a Bison squad coming off a 9-4 non-league loss to Eden Prairie (Eden Prairie, MN). The Bison record now stands at 3-12.

With the loss, Willmar falls to 0-16 on the campaign. The Cardinals travel to Hutchinson (Hutchinson, MN) to face the Tigers in a non-league challenge on Saturday, May 11.
