The crowd at Friday's league battle between the Burns Hilanders (Burns, OR) and the visiting McLoughlin Pioneers (Milton-Freewater, OR), saw Burns's baseball team beat McLoughlin by a margin of 3-1.

The Hilanders (10-5) will now prepare for their battle against Nyssa (Nyssa, OR). The Bulldogs enter the 3A-SD2 Special District 2 battle with a 2-17 record. In their last battle, Nyssa by Umatilla (Umatilla, OR), 9-8, in a league battle.

Next, the Pioneers face the Umatilla Vikings (Umatilla, OR) in a 3A-SD2 Special District 2 battle, on Tuesday, May 13. McLoughlin will attempt to improve on its 8-2 season record. The Vikings go into the challenge with a 11-6 record after their 9-8 league win over Nyssa (Nyssa, OR).
