The Pine Island Panthers baseball team scored 8 runs and held the visiting Chatfield Gophers to 4 in the Panthers non-league win on Friday.
The Panthers now own a 11-2 record. They take the field next when they host Lourdes for a Hiawatha Valley test on Saturday, May 10. Pine Island will clash with a Eagles team coming off a 4-1 non-league loss to Cotter (Winona, MN). The Eagles record now stands at 7-6.
With the defeat, Chatfield drops to 8-8 on the year. The Gophers host St. Charles (St. Charles, MN) to clash with the Fighting Saints in a Three Rivers test on Tuesday, May 13. The Fighting Saints go into the test with a record of 12-5. St. Charles lost 13-3 in their recent league test against Wabasha-Kellogg (Wabasha, MN)
