Ohio High School Baseball - Johnstown-Monroe edges Newark Catholic

In Friday's league game, the host Johnstown-Monroe Johnnies baseball team scored a close 3-1 win over the Newark Catholic Green Wave.

The Johnnies (10-8) will now prepare for their game against Mt. Vernon (Mt. Vernon, OH). The Yellowjackets go into the Licking County game with a 13-6 record. In their last game, Mt. Vernon nudged Dublin Coffman (Dublin, OH), 10-4, in a non-league game.

Next, the Green Wave play the Toronto Red Knights (Toronto, OH) in a non-league game, on Saturday, May 10. Newark Catholic will attempt to improve on its 9-9 season record. The Red Knights go into the game with a 18-2 record after their 6-2 non-league loss to Buckeye Local (Rayland, OH).
