In Friday's non-league bout, the Sparta Spartans (Sparta, MI) baseball squad overwhelmed the visiting Newaygo Lions (Newaygo, MI), by a tally of 13-0.
Next up, the Spartans encounter the Lowell Red Arrows (Lowell, MI) in a non-league bout, on Monday, May 12. Sparta will attempt to upgrade on its 15-6 season record. The Red Arrows enter the bout with a 16-6 record after their 7-0 league win over Forest Hills Central (Grand Rapids, MI).
The Lions (10-6) will now prepare for their bout against Chippewa Hills (Remus, MI). The Warriors enter the Central State bout with a 9-10 record. In their last bout, Chippewa Hills overcame Kent City (Kent City, MI), 7-4, in a league bout.
