The Fort Chiswell Pioneers softball team scored 23 runs and held the host Giles Spartans to 12 in the Pioneers non-league win on Friday.

The Pioneers now sport a 7-5 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Marion for a non-league battle on Monday, May 12. Fort Chiswell will confront a Scarlet Hurricanes team coming off a 3-2 league loss to Lebanon (Lebanon, VA). The Scarlet Hurricanes record now stands at 11-4.

With the loss, Giles moves to 5-6 on the season. The Spartans travel to Craig County (New Castle, VA) to confront the Rockets in a non-league battle on Monday, May 12. The Rockets come into the battle with a record of 0-10. Craig County lost 14-5 in their recent non-league battle against Narrows (Narrows, VA)
