The Carthage Comets (Carthage, NY) softball routed the host Indian River Wolves (Philadelphia, NY), 17-11 in Friday's league outing.

The Comets now sport a 3-8 record. They put it on the line next when they host Lowville for a Section 3 Frontier B outing on Monday, May 12. Carthage will encounter a Red Raiders team coming off a 4-2 league win over Beaver River (Beaver Falls, NY). The Red Raiders record now stands at 5-3.

With the loss, Indian River moves to 4-6 on the season. The Wolves host Gouverneur (Gouverneur, NY) to encounter the Wildcats in a non-league outing on Saturday, May 10. The Wildcats come into the outing with a record of 6-1. Gouverneur won 6-3 in their recent league outing against Franklin Academy (Malone, NY)
