The Freeburg Midgets triumphed over the visiting Roxana Shells softball squad by a count of 18-1 in Friday's league challenge.

Next, the Midgets play the Mater Dei Knights (Breese, IL) in a non-league challenge, on Tuesday, May 13. Freeburg will attempt to upgrade on its 12-9 season record. The Knights enter the challenge with a 9-8 record after their 9-0 non-league loss to Casey-Westfield (Casey, IL).

The Shells (0-17) will now prepare for their challenge against Salem (Salem, IL). The Wildcats enter the Cahokia - Mississippi challenge with a 17-2 record. In their last challenge, Salem overcame Columbia (Columbia, IL), 1-0, in a league challenge.
