North Carolina High School Softball - Gates County Perquimans

Perquimans Pirates (Hertford, NC) supporters left the game thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Gates County Red Barons (Gatesville, NC), 9-5 in a non-league game.

With the triumph, Perquimans improves its record to 23-2 on the year. The Pirates travel to Falls Lake (Creedmoor, NC) to play the Firebirds in a non-league game on Tuesday, May 13. The Firebirds enter the game with a record of 13-10. Falls Lake won 10-7 in their recent non-league game against Pamlico County (Bayboro, NC)

The Red Barons now hold a 12-11 record.
