In Friday's league match, the visiting Umpqua Valley Christian Monarchs softball team scored a nice 16-6 victory over the Yoncalla Eagles.

The Monarchs (10-9) will now prepare for their match against Elkton (Elkton, OR). The Elks go into the 2A/1A-SD5 Special District 5 match with a 0-15 record. In their last match, Elkton was routed by Oakland (Oakland, OR), 13-3, in a league match.

In their next game, the Eagles battle the Myrtle Point Bobcats (Myrtle Point, OR) in a non-league match, on Monday, May 12. Yoncalla will attempt to better on its 3-12 season record. The Bobcats go into the match with a 1-12 record after their 25-10 league loss to Reedsport (Reedsport, OR).
