Waterloo West Wahawks (Waterloo, IA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Waterloo East Trojans (Waterloo, IA), 9-2 in a non-league challenge.

The Wahawks now own a 2-2 record. They take the field next when they travel to Washington for a non-league challenge on Thursday, June 2. Waterloo West will face a Warriors squad coming off a 13-1 non-league loss to Benton (Van Horne, IA). The Warriors record now stands at 0-2.

With the loss, Waterloo East falls to 0-6 on the campaign. The Trojans travel to Linn-Mar (Marion, IA) to face the Lions in a non-league challenge on Thursday, June 2. The Lions enter the challenge with a record of 1-0. Linn-Mar won 14-2 in their recent non-league challenge against Marion (Marion, IA)
