Vinton-Shellsburg Vikings (Vinton, IA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting South Tama County Trojans (Tama, IA), 13-7 in a league challenge.

The Vikings now own a 7-13 record. They take the field next when they travel to Wapsie Valley for a non-league challenge on Tuesday, June 11. Vinton-Shellsburg will face a Warriors squad coming off a 3-1 league loss to Sumner-Fredericksburg (Sumner, IA). The Warriors record now stands at 11-6.

With the loss, South Tama County falls to 0-12 on the campaign. The Trojans host GMG (Garwin, IA) to face the Wolverines in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, June 11. The Wolverines enter the challenge with a record of 0-0.
