The Emmetsburg E'Hawks (Emmetsburg, IA) softball nipped the host Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn Hawks (Hartley, IA), 3-2 in Tuesday's non-league bout.

The E'Hawks (4-6) will now prepare for their bout against Northwest Webster (Manson, IA). The Cougars go into the Twin Lakes bout with a 2-7 record. In their last bout, Northwest Webster was edged by Glidden-Ralston (Glidden, IA), 9-0, in a non-league bout.

The Hawks now possess a 1-8 record. They play next when they travel to Gehlen Catholic for a War Eagle bout on Wednesday, June 12. Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn will confront a Jays team coming off a 10-4 non-league loss to Woodbury Central (Moville, IA). The Jays record now stands at 6-4.
