Murray Mustangs (Murray, IA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Orient-Macksburg Bulldogs (Orient, IA), 6-1 in a league challenge.

The Mustangs now own a 9-5 record. They take the field next when they host Ankeny Christian Academy for a Bluegrass - West challenge on Wednesday, June 12. Murray will face a squad coming off a 14-10 league loss to Lamoni (Lamoni, IA). The record now stands at 11-2.

With the loss, Orient-Macksburg falls to 6-6 on the campaign. The Bulldogs host East Union (Afton, IA) to face the Eagles in a non-league challenge on Wednesday, June 12. The Eagles enter the challenge with a record of 2-12. East Union lost 21-0 in their recent league challenge against Wayne (Corydon, IA)
