In Wednesday's league test, the Benton Bobcats (Van Horne, IA) softball squad overwhelmed the host Vinton-Shellsburg Vikings (Vinton, IA), by a tally of 11-1.

Next, the Bobcats meet the North Linn Lynx (Troy Mills, IA) in a non-league test, on Friday, June 13. Benton will attempt to advance on its 5-5 season record. The Lynx go into the test with a 11-5 record after their 11-3 league loss to Edgewood-Colesburg (Edgewood, IA).

The Vikings (2-12) will now prepare for their test against West Marshall (State Center, IA). The Trojans go into the non-league test with a 8-5 record. In their last test, West Marshall was routed by Prairie City-Monroe (Monroe, IA), 6-0, in a league test.
