Iowa High School Softball - Mt. Vernon sneaks past Marion

The Mt. Vernon Mustangs softball team scored 5 runs and held the visiting Marion Wolves to 4 in the Mustangs league win on Wednesday.
The Mustangs now possess a 11-5 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Wilton for a non-league battle on Thursday, June 12. Mt. Vernon will confront a Beavers team coming off a 11-9 non-league win over Central DeWitt (DeWitt, IA). The Beavers record now stands at 5-3.
With the loss, Marion moves to 5-9 on the season. The Wolves travel to Xavier (Cedar Rapids, IA) to confront the Saints in a non-league battle on Friday, June 13. The Saints come into the battle with a record of 17-0. Xavier won 21-0 in their recent non-league battle against Washington (Cedar Rapids, IA)
