West Bend-Mallard Wolverines (West Bend, IA) supporters left the game thrilled Wednesday as they witnessed their softball team edge the visiting South Central Calhoun Titans (Lake City, IA), 8-6 in a league outing.

The Wolverines now sport a 2-6 record. They put it on the line next when they host Sioux Central for a Twin Lakes outing on Friday, June 13. West Bend-Mallard will encounter a Rebels team coming off a 14-4 league win over Northwest Webster (Manson, IA). The Rebels record now stands at 6-3.

With the loss, South Central Calhoun moves to 0-8 on the season. The Titans host Emmetsburg (Emmetsburg, IA) to encounter the E'Hawks in a Twin Lakes outing on Friday, June 13. The E'Hawks come into the outing with a record of 0-10. Emmetsburg lost 14-4 in their recent non-league outing against Okoboji (Milford, IA)
