The Cardinal Comets softball team scored 9 runs and held the host Davis County Mustangs to 6 in the Comets league win on Thursday.

The Comets now possess a 5-7 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Fairfield for a non-league battle on Friday, June 13. Cardinal will confront a Trojans team coming off a 6-4 non-league loss to Centerville (Centerville, IA). The Trojans record now stands at 6-5.

With the loss, Davis County moves to 7-6 on the season. The Mustangs travel to Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont (Eddyville, IA) to confront the Rockets in a South Central battle on Saturday, June 14. The Rockets come into the battle with a record of 6-7. Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont won 12-3 in their recent non-league battle against Moravia (Moravia, IA)
