In Friday's league match, the host Highland Huskies softball team scored a tight 3-2 win over the Wapello Indians.

The Huskies (4-5) will now prepare for their match against Holy Trinity Catholic (Fort Madison, IA). The Crusaders come into the non-league match with a 12-5 record. In their last match, Holy Trinity Catholic nipped English Valleys (North English, IA), 16-1, in a non-league match.

In their next game, the Indians confront the Van Buren County Warriors (Keosauqua, IA) in a non-league match, on Monday, June 16. Wapello will attempt to better on its 7-6 season record. The Warriors come into the match with a 4-7 record after their 13-1 non-league win over Mt. Pleasant (Mt. Pleasant, IA).
