The New Hampton Chickasaws softball squad (New Hampton, IA), was routed 10-7 in Saturday's non-league contest with the host Independence Mustangs (Independence, IA)

With the triumph, Independence improves its record to 6-9 on the year. The Mustangs host West Delaware (Manchester, IA) to face the Hawks in a WaMaC-East contest on Monday, June 15. The Hawks enter the contest with a record of 10-4. West Delaware won 14-1 in their recent non-league contest against Crestwood (Cresco, IA)
