Mt. Vernon Mustangs (Mt. Vernon, IA) fans exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Williamsburg Raiders (Williamsburg, IA), 6-2 in a non-league challenge.

The Mustangs now sport a 10-3 record. They take the field next when they host North Polk for a non-league challenge on Friday, June 16.

With the loss, Williamsburg falls to 15-2 on the campaign. The Raiders host Marion (Marion, IA) to face the Wolves in a non-league challenge on Wednesday, June 21. The Wolves enter the challenge with a record of 4-12.
