BCLUW Comets (Conrad, IA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Baxter (Baxter, IA), 7-1 in a non-league challenge.

The Comets now own a 10-7 record. They take the field next when they host South Hardin for a non-league challenge on Monday, June 17. BCLUW will face a Tigers squad coming off a 9-7 non-league win over Grundy Center (Grundy Center, IA). The Tigers record now stands at 11-9.

With the loss, Baxter falls to 0-12 on the campaign. The host Montezuma (Montezuma, IA) to face the Braves in a non-league challenge on Saturday, June 15. The Braves enter the challenge with a record of 6-6. Montezuma won 7-6 in their recent league challenge against North Mahaska (New Sharon, IA)
