The crowd at Wednesday's non-league battle between the Kennedy Cougars (Cedar Rapids, IA) and the host West Liberty Comets (West Liberty, IA), saw Kennedy's baseball team gain a win over West Liberty by a tally of 7-0.

The Cougars (18-8) will now prepare for their battle against Jefferson (Cedar Rapids, IA). The Hawks enter the non-league battle with a 1-23 record. In their last battle, Jefferson was overwhelmed by Linn-Mar (Marion, IA), 6-5, in a non-league battle.

Next, the Comets face the West Branch Bears (West Branch, IA) in a River Valley - South battle, on Monday, June 23. West Liberty will attempt to upgrade on its 12-9 season record. The Bears enter the battle with a 3-15 record after their 11-1 non-league loss to Benton (Van Horne, IA).
