The Solon Spartans baseball team scored 11 runs and held the host Grinnell Tigers to 7 in the Spartans non-league win on Thursday.

The Spartans now own a 13-8 record. They take the field next when they travel to Benton for a non-league test on Monday, June 23. Solon will play a Bobcats team coming off a 11-1 non-league win over West Branch (West Branch, IA). The Bobcats record now stands at 17-5.

With the defeat, Grinnell drops to 10-11 on the year. The Tigers host Independence (Independence, IA) to play the Mustangs in a non-league test on Monday, June 23. The Mustangs go into the test with a record of 10-13. Independence lost 14-9 in their recent non-league test against Clear Creek-Amana (Tiffin, IA)
