The Decorah-North Winneshiek Vikings softball team scored 8 runs and held the visiting New Hampton Chickasaws to 0 in the Vikings league win on Thursday.

The Vikings now sport a 12-6 record. They put it on the line next when they host Mason City for a non-league battle on Friday, June 20. Decorah-North Winneshiek will confront a Mohawks team coming off a 15-0 non-league loss to Ottumwa (Ottumwa, IA). The Mohawks record now stands at 5-9.

With the loss, New Hampton moves to 8-7 on the season. The Chickasaws host Charles City (Charles City, IA) to confront the Comets in a Northeast Iowa battle on Tuesday, June 24. The Comets come into the battle with a record of 9-8. Charles City won 8-7 in their recent non-league battle against Newell-Fonda (Newell, IA)
