The LaSalle Academy Cardinals (New York, NY) baseball trounced the visiting Cathedral Prep Crusaders (Elmhurst, NY), 10-0 in Monday's non-league challenge.
The Cardinals now own a 8-7 record. They take the field next when they host Bishop Loughlin for a non-league challenge on Wednesday, June 4.
With the defeat, Cathedral Prep drops to 12-10 on the year.

Powered by an eight-run third inning, the La Salle Cardinals downed the Cathedral Prep Crusaders, 10 – 0 in five innings, on Randall’s Island, to advance in the CHSAA Varsity Baseball Intersectional ‘A’ Division 2025 Championship Tournament.
Junior, Kerick Tejada, La Salle’s 2024 team MVP, was masterful on the mound and at the plate. Tejada tossed a complete game two-hit shutout finishing with seven strikeouts against four walks and wiggled out of a bases loaded one-out situation in the first inning, that could have ended differently. And, as good as he was on the rubber he was even better hitting by going 4 for 4 with two doubles, a triple and three RBIs, while outscoring Cathedral by himself (3 runs to none). In the third inning when the Cards finally put it together, Tejada and Anthony Gonzalez (3 for 4, 2B, 4 RBI) each had two hits as the La Salle bats came to life and opened things up.
