The St. Mary's Hawks (Remsen, IA) baseball trounced the host Akron-Westfield Westerners (Akron, IA), 10-2 in Friday's league challenge.
The Hawks now own a 13-1 record. They take the field next when they host Boyden-Hull/Rock Valley for a non-league challenge on Saturday, June 21. St. Mary's will clash with a NIGHTHAWKS team coming off a 6-5 league loss to Sioux Center (Sioux Center, IA). The NIGHTHAWKS record now stands at 6-8.
With the defeat, Akron-Westfield drops to 10-7 on the year. The Westerners travel to Trinity Christian (Hull, IA) to play the Tigers in a War Eagle test on Friday, June 20. The Tigers go into the test with a record of 6-6. Trinity Christian won 8-5 in their recent non-league test against Western Christian (Hull, IA)
