The crowd at Friday's non-league bout between the Ames Little Cyclones (Ames, IA) and the visiting Ankeny Hawks (Ankeny, IA), observed Ames's softball team get by Ankeny by a tally of 12-10.

The Little Cyclones (18-7) will now prepare for their bout against Winterset (Winterset, IA). The Huskies go into the non-league bout with a 16-8 record. In their last bout, Winterset tipped Martensdale-St. Mary's (Martensdale, IA), 11-3, in a non-league bout.

In their next game, the Hawks clash with the Urbandale J-Hawks (Urbandale, IA) in a CIML bout, on Monday, June 23. Ankeny will attempt to advance on its 8-11 season record. The J-Hawks go into the bout with a 7-15 record after their 3-1 non-league loss to Muscatine (Muscatine, IA).
