Humboldt Wildcats (Humboldt, IA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Clear Lake Lions (Clear Lake, IA), 7-1 in a non-league challenge.

The Wildcats now own a 11-9 record. They take the field next when they travel to Spencer for a non-league challenge on Thursday, June 22. Humboldt will battle a Tigers squad coming off a 20-0 non-league win over Cherokee Washington (Cherokee, IA). The Tigers record now stands at 10-9.

With the loss, Clear Lake falls to 9-9 on the campaign. The Lions travel to Newman Catholic (Mason City, IA) to battle the Knights in a non-league challenge on Thursday, June 22. The Knights enter the challenge with a record of 15-5. Newman Catholic won 6-0 in their recent non-league challenge against Rockford (Rockford, IA)
