Johnston Dragons (Johnston, IA) fans exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad achieve victory over the host Urbandale J-Hawks (Urbandale, IA), 13-3 in a non-league challenge.

The Dragons now sport a 16-10 record. They take the field next when they travel to Decorah-North Winneshiek for a non-league challenge on Saturday, June 24. Johnston will face a Vikings squad coming off a 7-4 non-league win over North Fayette Valley (West Union, IA). The Vikings record now stands at 13-8.

With the loss, Urbandale falls to 7-21 on the campaign. The J-hawks host Roosevelt (Des Moines, IA) to face the Roughriders in a non-league challenge on Friday, June 23. The Roughriders enter the challenge with a record of 8-4. Roosevelt lost 7-0 in their recent non-league challenge against Ottumwa (Ottumwa, IA)
