Pekin Panthers (Packwood, IA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Lone Tree Lions (Lone Tree, IA), 10-8 in a league challenge.

The Panthers now own a 2-17 record. They take the field next when they travel to Central Lee for a non-league challenge on Monday, June 24. Pekin will battle a Hawks squad coming off a 17-3 league win over Danville (Danville, IA). The Hawks record now stands at 19-5.

With the loss, Lone Tree falls to 10-7 on the campaign. The Lions travel to West Burlington (West Burlington, IA) to battle the Falcons in a non-league challenge on Monday, June 24. The Falcons enter the challenge with a record of 17-5. West Burlington won 12-0 in their recent non-league challenge against New London (New London, IA)
