The West Lyon Wildcats softball team scored 8 runs and held the visiting Akron-Westfield Westerners to 5 in the Wildcats non-league win on Saturday.

The Wildcats now sport a 19-0 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Unity Christian for a Siouxland battle on Monday, June 23. West Lyon will confront a Knights team coming off a 14-0 league win over Central Lyon (Rock Rapids, IA). The Knights record now stands at 10-6.

With the loss, Akron-Westfield moves to 13-2 on the season. The Westerners host Hinton (Hinton, IA) to confront the Blackhawks in a War Eagle battle on Monday, June 23. The Blackhawks come into the battle with a record of 13-3. Hinton won 27-5 in their recent league battle against Harris-Lake Park (Lake Park, IA)
