In Saturday's non-league match, the visiting Nashua-Plainfield Huskies softball team scored a tight 7-2 victory over the New Hampton Chickasaws.

The Huskies (2-13) will now prepare for their match against Central Springs (Manly, IA). The Panthers go into the Top of Iowa-East match with a 8-8 record. In their last match, Central Springs was routed by Gilbert (Gilbert, IA), 5-3, in a non-league match.

In their next game, the Chickasaws battle the Charles City Comets (Charles City, IA) in a Northeast Iowa match, on Tuesday, June 24. New Hampton will attempt to better on its 10-8 season record. The Comets go into the match with a 9-10 record after their 13-3 non-league loss to Atlantic (Atlantic, IA).
