Murray Mustangs (Murray, IA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad run past the visiting Melcher-Dallas Saints (Melcher, IA), 14-2 in a non-league challenge.

The Mustangs now own a 18-4 record. They take the field next when they host Moravia for a non-league challenge on Friday, June 23. Murray will battle a Mohawks squad coming off a 23-0 non-league win over Moulton-Udell (Moulton, IA). The Mohawks record now stands at 10-15.

With the loss, Melcher-Dallas falls to 9-16 on the campaign. The Saints travel to Orient-Macksburg (Orient, IA) to battle the Bulldogs in a non-league challenge on Friday, June 23. The Bulldogs enter the challenge with a record of 10-14. Orient-Macksburg lost 3-2 in their recent non-league challenge against Lamoni (Lamoni, IA)
