West Monona Spartans (Onawa, IA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Boyden-Hull/Rock Valley NIGHTHAWKS (Rock Valley, IA), 9-4 in a non-league challenge.

The Spartans now own a 22-5 record. They take the field next when they host Gehlen Catholic for a non-league challenge on Saturday, June 24. West Monona will face a Jays squad coming off a 10-0 non-league loss to Akron-Westfield (Akron, IA). The Jays record now stands at 5-9.

With the loss, Boyden-Hull/Rock Valley falls to 13-9 on the campaign. The Nighthawks travel to Kingsley-Pierson (Kingsley, IA) to face the Panthers in a non-league challenge on Friday, June 23. The Panthers enter the challenge with a record of 14-4. Kingsley-Pierson lost 3-2 in their recent non-league challenge against River Valley (Correctionville, IA)
