English Valleys Bears (North English, IA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Iowa Valley Tigers (Marengo, IA), 7-1 in a non-league challenge.

The Bears now own a 12-6 record. They take the field next when they travel to Columbus for a non-league challenge on Tuesday, June 27. English Valleys will battle a Sailors squad coming off a 6-1 non-league win over Dike-New Hartford (Dike, IA). The Sailors record now stands at 22-11.

With the loss, Iowa Valley falls to 7-11 on the campaign. The Tigers host Sigourney (Sigourney, IA) to battle the Savages in a non-league challenge on Monday, June 26. The Savages enter the challenge with a record of 17-4. Sigourney won 11-0 in their recent non-league challenge against Moravia (Moravia, IA)
