In Monday's league match, the visiting Marion Wolves softball team scored a nice 15-5 victory over the Independence Mustangs.

The Wolves (15-13) will now prepare for their match against Vinton-Shellsburg (Vinton, IA). The Vikings go into the non-league match with a 7-23 record. In their last match, Vinton-Shellsburg was routed by Center Point-Urbana (Center Point, IA), 9-0, in a league match.

In their next game, the Mustangs face the Cascade Cougars (Cascade, IA) in a non-league contest, on Tuesday, June 25. Independence will attempt to improve on its 15-19 season record. The Cougars enter the contest with a 8-3 record after their 8-7 non-league win over Central DeWitt (DeWitt, IA).
