In Monday's non-league match, the host Solon Spartans softball team scored a tight 6-5 victory over the West Delaware Hawks.

The Spartans (13-18) will now prepare for their match against Clear Creek-Amana (Tiffin, IA). The Clippers go into the non-league match with a 21-10 record. In their last match, Clear Creek-Amana was nipped by Williamsburg (Williamsburg, IA), 13-2, in a league match.

In their next game, the Hawks battle the Mt. Vernon Mustangs (Mt. Vernon, IA) in a WaMaC-East match, on Wednesday, June 26. West Delaware will attempt to better on its 14-15 season record. The Mustangs go into the match with a 28-9 record after their 10-0 non-league win over South Tama County (Tama, IA).
