The Alburnett Pirates routed the host Vinton-Shellsburg Vikings softball team by a final score of 10-1 in Tuesday's non-league match.

The Pirates (20-7) will now prepare for their match against North Linn (Troy Mills, IA). The Lynx come into the Tri-Rivers - West match with a 12-11 record. In their last match, North Linn was routed by Beckman (Dyersville, IA), 6-1, in a non-league match.

In their next game, the Vikings battle the Independence Mustangs (Independence, IA) in a non-league match, on Wednesday, June 25. Vinton-Shellsburg will attempt to better on its 4-16 season record. The Mustangs come into the match with a 4-20 record after their 4-3 league loss to West Delaware (Manchester, IA).
