The Newman Catholic Knights baseball team scored 12 runs and held the host Central Springs Panthers to 1 in the Knights non-league win on Friday.
The Knights now hold a 15-5 record. They take the field next when they host Mason City for a non-league test on Saturday, June 28.
With the defeat, Central Springs drops to 5-9 on the year. The Panthers host Northwood-Kensett (Northwood, IA) to play the Vikings in a non-league test on Monday, June 30. The Vikings go into the test with a record of 4-12.
