The Independence Mustangs (Independence, IA) baseball the visiting Decorah-North Winneshiek Vikings (Decorah, IA), 8-4 in Friday's non-league challenge.
The Mustangs now own a 16-13 record. They take the field next when they travel to Marion for a WaMaC-East challenge on Monday, June 30.
With the defeat, Decorah-North Winneshiek drops to 19-5 on the year. The Vikings travel to Charles City (Charles City, IA) to clash with the Comets in a Northeast Iowa challenge on Tuesday, July 1. The Comets go into the challenge with a record of 1-20.
