The Vinton-Shellsburg Vikings baseball team scored 9 runs and held the host Union Knights to 6 in the Vikings non-league win on Friday.

The Vikings now hold a 4-17 record. They take the field next when they travel to Center Point-Urbana for a WaMac-West test on Monday, June 30. Vinton-Shellsburg will play a Stormin' Pointers team coming off a 13-0 non-league loss to Solon (Solon, IA). The Stormin' Pointers record now stands at 5-16.

With the defeat, Union drops to 8-9 on the year. The Knights travel to Gladbrook-Reinbeck (Reinbeck, IA) to play the Rebels in a non-league test on Tuesday, July 1. The Rebels go into the test with a record of 7-16. Gladbrook-Reinbeck lost 9-5 in their recent non-league test against Iowa Falls-Alden (Iowa Falls, IA)
