Van Meter Bulldogs (Van Meter, IA) backers left the game pleased Friday as they saw their softball squad nudge the visiting Ballard Bombers (Huxley, IA), 8-1 in a non-league game.

With the triumph, Van Meter upgrades its record to 22-2 on the year. The Bulldogs travel to Prairie City-Monroe (Monroe, IA) to play the Mustangs in a non-league game on Monday, June 30. The Mustangs enter the game with a record of 19-2.

The Bombers now own a 6-19 record. They play next when they travel to Boone for a Raccoon River game on Tuesday, July 1.
