Iowa High School Baseball - St. Mary's sneaks past Akron-Westfield

The crowd at Friday's league battle between the St. Mary's Hawks (Remsen, IA) and the visiting Akron-Westfield Westerners (Akron, IA), saw St. Mary's's baseball team get by Akron-Westfield by a tally of 3-2.
The Hawks (18-3) will now prepare for their battle against Earlham (Earlham, IA). The Cardinals enter the non-league battle with a 16-12 record. In their last battle, Earlham held off West Central Valley (Stuart, IA), 4-3, in a league battle.
Next, the Westerners face the Odebolt Arthur Battle Creek Ida Grove Falcons (Ida Grove, IA) in a non-league test, on Monday, July 1. Akron-Westfield will attempt to better on its 20-3 season record. The Falcons go into the test with a 12-7 record after their 6-1 non-league loss to Alta-Aurelia (Alta, IA).
