Denison-Schleswig Monarchs (Denison, IA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Shenandoah Mustangs (Shenandoah, IA), 4-2 in a league challenge.

The Monarchs now own a 3-5 record. They take the field next when they travel to Lewis Central for a Hawkeye 10 game on Tuesday, June 4. Denison-Schleswig will clash with a Titans team coming off a 5-3 league loss to Glenwood (Glenwood, IA). The Titans record now stands at 5-8.

In their next game, the Mustangs clash with the Fremont-Mills Knights (Tabor, IA) in a non-league game, on Tuesday, June 4. Shenandoah will attempt to move on its 6-3 season record. The Knights come into the game with a 5-3 record after their 15-5 non-league win over East Mills (Malvern, IA).
