Wapsie Valley Warriors (Fairbank, IA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Union Knights (La Porte City, IA), 10-5 in a league challenge.

The Warriors now own a 7-3 record. They take the field next when they travel to Cascade for a non-league challenge on Tuesday, June 4. Wapsie Valley will battle a Cougars squad coming off a 6-3 non-league loss to Maquoketa (Maquoketa, IA). The Cougars record now stands at 2-1.

With the loss, Union falls to 2-6 on the campaign. The Knights travel to Hudson (Hudson, IA) to battle the Pirates in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, June 4. The Pirates enter the challenge with a record of 7-1. Hudson won 11-1 in their recent league challenge against Aplington-Parkersburg (Parkersburg, IA)
