Shenandoah Mustangs (Shenandoah, IA) supporters left the game pleased Monday as they saw their softball squad nudge the visiting Denison-Schleswig Monarchs (Denison, IA), 2-1 in a league game.

With the triumph, Shenandoah improves its record to 8-15 on the year. The Mustangs host Tri-Center (Neola, IA) to play the Trojans in a non-league game on Tuesday, July 1. The Trojans enter the game with a record of 7-15.

The Monarchs now hold a 9-14 record. They play next when they travel to Clarinda for a Hawkeye 10 game on Wednesday, July 2. Denison-Schleswig will play a Cardinals squad coming off a 6-3 league loss to Lewis Central (Council Bluffs, IA). The Cardinals record now stands at 20-9.
