The Amity Regional Spartans softball squad (Woodbridge, CT), was edged 3-2 in Wednesday's non-league contest with the host Newtown Nighthawks (Newtown, CT)

With the triumph, Newtown improves its record to 14-6 on the year. The Nighthawks travel to Warde (Fairfield, CT) to face the Mustangs in a non-league contest on Friday, June 6. The Mustangs enter the contest with a record of 5-3. Warde won 3-0 in their recent non-league contest against Conard (West Hartford, CT)

The Spartans now hold a 17-7 record.
