Cherokee Washington Braves (Cherokee, IA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Spencer Tigers (Spencer, IA), 17-12 in a league challenge.

The Braves now own a 2-8 record. They take the field next when they travel to West Monona for a non-league challenge on Friday, June 7. Cherokee Washington will face a Spartans squad coming off a 14-0 league win over Lawton-Bronson (Lawton, IA). The Spartans record now stands at 11-2.

With the loss, Spencer falls to 1-8 on the campaign. The Tigers host Valley (Elgin, IA) to face the Tigers in a non-league challenge on Friday, June 7. The Tigers enter the challenge with a record of 4-1. Valley won 9-5 in their recent league challenge against Waukee (Waukee, IA)
