Cheverus Stags (Portland, ME) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Massabesic Mustangs (Waterboro, ME), 3-0 in a non-league challenge.

The Stags now own a 17-0 record. They take the field next when they travel to Scarborough for a non-league challenge on Saturday, June 8. Cheverus will face a Red Storm squad coming off a 6-1 non-league win over Gorham (Gorham, ME). The Red Storm record now stands at 13-5.

With the loss, Massabesic falls to 10-8 on the campaign.
